One Ellsworth

This project includes redevelopment of a former BB&T bank building into mixed-use residential and commercial spaces. Originally built as Piedmont Trust Bank in 1956, the building has seen two additions, most notably a 1971 six-story office tower. At the corner of Ellsworth and East Church streets, the building is an icon in downtown Martinsville.

The renovation includes 63 apartments and over 24,000 square feet of commercial space, including a roof-top deck venue with a view extending for miles. The project received a $2.8 million grant from the Industrial Revitalization Fund, part of a statewide initiative targeted toward vacant buildings. Funding also includes Federal and State Historic Tax Credits.
